Could Florida be primed to snag talented 2016 receiver Tyrie Cleveland?

The 6’3", 180-pound pass-catcher from Houston is currently committed to Tom Herman and the hometown Houston Cougars. However, that hasn’t stopped Jim McElwain and the Florida brass from trying to flip Cleveland down to Gainesville.

Via Gator Country, Cleveland will officially visit Florida on Jan. 29 — the final weekend before National Signing Day. It appears as if his interest in the program is very legitimate.

"Just playing in the SEC would be a great opportunity to help me at the next level, so it was just those things that got Florida in the mix, plus Florida is a great program that is moving in the right direction," said Cleveland. "I’ve always liked Florida and to have the opportunity to play for them with a full ride is a blessing."

Cleveland is an explosive, long athlete with terrific route-running skills. He’s also a very dynamic athlete vertically down the field. Without question, Cleveland would give the Gators an uptick in talent within its wide receiver corps.
