Paying tribute to Wednesday’s "Back to the Future" Day, Florida’s social media team posted some fantastic photos honoring the film. The snapshots even have some Gator flavor to them.

The second installment of the trilogy has Marty McFly (portrayed by Michael J. Fox) traveling to Oct. 21, 2015 in order to save his children. The film was released in 1989.

If the films were recast with current members of the team, which players and coaches would be involved?

Jim McElwain seems like a natural fit for the Doc Brown role (played by Christopher Lloyd). A gregarious, energetic athlete (such as receiver Brandon Powell) would likely get the role of Fox’s character.

As for the villain Biff (played by Thomas F. Wilson), a natural rival of Florida would make sense. Perhaps Butch Jones of Tennessee or Georgia head coach Mark Richt would fit the bill?

It would be pretty sweet to see the McElwain decked out in full Doc Brown regalia rolling up to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium driving the DeLorean time machine.
