Florida’s defense well represented in All-SEC teams

The announcement of the All-SEC first and second-teams came out Tuesday afternoon.

Without question, Jim McElwain’s team was well represented — particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Corners Jalen Tabor and Vernon Hargreaves III, and defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard were all named as first-team selections. Punter Johnny Townsend and linebacker Antonio Morrison garnered second-team honors.

Tabor and Hargreaves III make up arguably the best starting duo of cornerbacks in the country. It’s the first time since 2010 in which Florida’s had two corners on the All-SEC first team (Janoris Jenkins, Ahmad Black).

Bullard has been an absolute stud up front for Florida, especially in terms of stopping the run. Townsend statistically ranks as one of the the top punters in the conference, and Morrison ranks first on the team with 97 tackles, and second with 12.0 tackles for loss.
