Video: Eric LeGrand tells graduates ‘anything is possible in this world’
Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand got his chance to address his peers Sunday in a commencement speech at Rutgers University.
LeGrand, who graduated with a degree in labor relations, got a standing ovation at the ceremony and spoke to students about overcoming adversity. LeGrand is paralyzed from the neck down after suffering a neck injury during a game in 2010.
"I’m moving my shoulders — I’m moving myself forward," LeGrand told the Class of 2014. "Don’t ever let someone tell you you can’t do something."
LeGrand spoke about his continued fight to walk again and how he wakes up every morning believing that day will come.
"Anything is truly possible in this world," he said.
