Find out how to stream the ACC Coastal matchup between the Duke Blue Devils (4-7, 1-6 ACC) and Miami Hurricanes (7-4, 4-3).
This game has slightly more at stake than what there appears to be on the surface. Virginia Tech has already clinched the ACC Coastal. The Hurricanes are already bowl eligible. Duke cannot get to six wins. However, a win for the Canes would allow first-year coach Mark Richt to tie Al Golden’s win total from last year. A win for the Blue Devils would make them bowl eligible even without hitting the six-win threshold.
Miami has had one of the more bizarre seasons. They opened the year with a four-game winning streak then proceeded to lose their next four. If they win on Saturday, the Canes will end the year on their second four-game winning streak of the season. While Canes fans no doubt hoped for a step forward immediately under Mark Richt, ending the year hot and matching last year’s win total with a bowl game still to play is a strong first stepping stone.

Duke has lost four of their last five games. The sting is lessened a bit with that win coming against hated rival North Carolina, helping to ruin the Tar Heels’ season. The Blue Devils will end their run of four consecutive seasons of at least six wins, but their bowl streak is not dead yet. Because there are a billion bowl games (slight exaggeration) there are not going to be enough six-win teams to play in those games. The NCAA decided to use Academic Progress Rate (APR) to pick the 5-7 teams to fill out the remaining bowl game slots. Duke has a ridiculously high 995 APR and would be bowl bound if they can upset the Hurricanes.
