QB Jared Goff breaks Cal’s all-time records for passing yards, completions, total offense
Saturday was a career day for Cal quarterback Jared Goff, who broke three school records in the Bears’ 45-44 win over Texas in Austin.
In the first quarter, Goff used a 22-yard throw to Stephen Anderson to grab the all-time record for passing yards. The mark was previously held by Troy Taylor, who had thrown for 8,126 yards in his college career. It now stands at 8,379 yards.
Goff also set two more school records vs. the Longhorns, one for total offense (8,266 yards) and the other for career completions (704).
The junior now holds 22 school records, including single-season passing yards (3,973) and single-season passing touchdowns (35).
Of breaking the three school records, Goff said:
About breaking 3 school records "if you had told me that and we lost I wouldn't be happy, but that's good." –@JaredGoff16
