With his sixth touchdown in the Armed Forces Bowl on Tuesday, Cal QB Jared Goff broke Marcus Mariota’s single-season record for passing touchdowns, the Bears report.

Goff broke the record late in the third quarter on a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Lawler. With the score, Goff also broke the Pac-12 single-season record for passing yards.

Mariota threw for 42 touchdowns for Oregon in 2014 during his Heisman Trophy campaign. With his performance against Air Force, Goff’s season total rose to 43.

Also, Goff’s six touchdown passes are an Armed Forces Bowl record.

Goff led the Bears to a 35-point first half, an Armed Forces Bowl record, and threw for four touchdown passes in the first half alone.
