Blackout delays college football game in Florida

A power outage at the stadium delayed Bethune-Cookman’s game

against North Carolina A&T for an hour and 42 minutes Thursday

night.

The lights came back on around 9:30 and the teams and officials

came back out on the field shortly thereafter and warmed up in

front of nearly empty stands.

The game got underway at 9:54 p.m. with Bethune-Cookman was

leading 19-0 late in the first quarter.

Moments after the lights went out, a thunderstorm moved over

darkened Municipal Stadium, but it only rained for a short

time.
