Analyzing the Penn State Depth Chart for the Michigan State Game

What does Penn State’s depth chart look like ahead of the Michigan State game?

Penn State enters the final week of the regular season with a chance to finish with 10 wins. Even more than that is a chance at the Big Ten Championship and perhaps a spot in the College Football Playoff. However, first the Nittany Lions must take care of Michigan State.

With it being Senior Day, the seniors will be honored on the field before the game. Several of them play key roles on both offense and defense.

This week’s official depth chart has been released, and it’s almost exactly the same as the one released before last week’s game at Rutgers.

Fortunately, as the injury bug has run rampant through the offensive line this year, the unit escaped New Jersey unscathed. The depth chart is unchanged up front, meaning that Steven Gonzalez will be making his second start for the Nittany Lions at left guard.

There’s just a small change on defense, as Von Walker is no longer listed third at SAM linebacker. He was injured last week and his spot has been replaced by Brandon Bell.

Special teams is also the same, with quarterback Billy Fessler once again taking over the holder duties for Chris Gulla.
