The top-ranked Crimson Tide suffered a huge blow in their 33-14 victory over No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday.

Alabama senior safety Eddie Jackson will miss the remainder of the season with a fractured left leg, Nick Saban told reporters after the game.

Jackson suffered the injury taking a rough tackle on a punt return in the fourth quarter against the Aggies. Unable to put any pressure on his leg after the tackle, Jackson was carted off the field and into the locker room.

"We're certainly going to miss him," Saban said of Jackson, who has become one of the Tide's best defensive players.

Jackson was a second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection last season and was viewed by many as a top NFL prospect.
