Capping off what is turning out to be a fantastic 2016 National Signing Day, the Alabama Crimson Tide won the services of elite Rivals.com 5-star linebacker Lyndell "Mack" Wilson on Wednesday afternoon.
Wilson ultimately selected to stay home and play for the Crimson Tide over heavy pressure from Kirby Smart and Georgia.
In combination with recent signee Ben Davis, the duo could form the future heartbeat of the Alabama defense in years to come. Both are linebackers with exceptional versatility, intuitiveness, and athleticism.
The Crimson Tide has catapulted themselves up the recruiting ranks with a very strong finish. Thus far, they’ve garnered pledges from eight players (Wilson, Davis, Shyheim Carter, Aaron Robinson, Jared Mayden, Jamar King, Terrell Hall, Joshua Jacobs) on Wednesday — with big fish defensive tackle Derrick Brown still on the board.
