Medically retires Karr medically retired from football, he announced via his personal X account.

Impact Karr entered the transfer portal in December with a year of eligibility remaining, but announced in June that he decided to medically retire from the sport. He said that during a regular physical it was discovered that he had a heart condition which forced the decision.

Impact Like many seniors before, now or soon, Karr will give the transfer portal a go to maximize his last year of collegiate eligibility. Touchdowns aside, 2024 was his second straight season in which the tight end logged more than 200 receiving yards, and he did so while recording more of them per reception.

First multi-catch game of 2024 Karr totaled three receptions (on five targets) for 41 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-24 defeat to Louisiana.

Impact Karr set season highs in receptions and targets and posted his second best yardage total of the year. The senior tight end also scored his first touchdown of 2024, reeling in a 11-yard pass from Noah Kim.

Heading to Coastal Carolina Karr announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he's committed to transfer to Coastal Carolina.

Impact Karr will join the Chanticleers next fall with two years of remaining eligibility following his three-year stint at North Carolina. As a Tar Heel, the 6-foot-3, 250-pound tight end primarily operated as a rotational blocker, given his lone-career reception for three yards back in 2020.
