FOX Four: Ranking the College Football Playoff field after Week 3
FOX Sports Staff
Every week until the official College Football Playoff field is announced, a group of FOX Sports broadcasters, writers and production staff will vote on the "FOX Four" -- our collective ranking of the current four best teams in the country. Here is how we would seed the playoff field after Week 3.
Other teams receiving playoff votes: Michigan; Clemson; Stanford; Washington; Michigan State.
Next week on FOX and FS1 (all times ET): USC at Utah (Friday, 8:30 p.m., FS1); Boise State at Oregon State (Saturday, 3:00 p.m., FS1); Oklahoma State at Baylor (Saturday, 7:00 p.m., FOX)

Last week: Just outside the top four
The Cougars had a sluggish start at Cincinnati last Thursday night before breaking the game open in the fourth quater with two defensive touchdowns, winning 40-16. They're at Texas State next week before hosting Connecticut five days later. On Oct. 8, they visit Navy in what will be a test for UH's stingy defense. One thing to watch: Quarterback Greg Ward Jr. is playing through a shoulder injury, and it's possible it's an issue he has to manage all year.

Last week: Not in the playoff discussion
Louisville had the most emphatic victory of Week 3, smacking Florida State, 63-20, and launching the Cardinals into the playoff field. QB Lamar Jackson added five more touchdowns, bringing his total through three games to 18. The ACC Atlantic race looks much different today, and in two weeks Louisville goes to Clemson for a massive game that will shape the ACC and playoff races.

Ohio State (3-0)
Last week: No. 3 The Buckeyes went to Norman in Week 3 and dominated Oklahoma in a game there was never in question, winning 45-24. QB J.T. Barrett was nearly flawless -- going 14-of-20 with four touchdowns through the air -- while Sooners QB Baker Mayfield struggled, throwing two picks. The win eliminates any doubt that Urban Meyer can simply reload after losing so much talent to the NFL Draft. With Michigan State winning at Notre Dame in Week 3, the Big Ten East is set up to have three teams in the Top 10.

Last week: No. 1 The Crimson Tide were down 24-3 in the first half at Ole Miss, seemingly setting up for their third straight loss to the Rebels, but then defense and special teams took over and Alabama pulled out a 48-43 win in Oxford. After starting a bit shaky in the first half, true freshman QB Jalen Hurts finished with 304 yards of total offense and handled the ball on 49 of Alabama's 79 plays. RB Damien Harris broke out with 144 yards and a TD on 16 carries. The Tide host Kent State next week.
