Qua Ashley - Scores touchdown in close loss Ashley recorded 18 rushes for 86 yards and one touchdown and reeled in 3 of 4 targets for 14 yards during Saturday's 31-25 loss against Connecticut.
Impact Ashley was solid on the ground during the entire matchup, and he capped off his performance with a big touchdown in the fourth quarter. The 5-foot-10 running back now has 30 attempts for 240 yards and three touchdowns, along with five grabs for 37 yards and a touchdown in his last two games. He should continue to get a high volume versus Ohio after the Cardinals' bye week.

Kiael Kelly - Mixed performance in close loss Kelly was 17-for-24 passing for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 31-25 loss against Connecticut. He also had 12 rushes for 27 yards.
Impact Kelly wasn't terrible in the loss to the Huskies, but he didn't do enough to get the Cardinals a win. The starting quarterback kicked off the second quarter with a big receiving touchdown from Qian Magwood. Kelly then threw an interception in the fourth quarter which put Ball State far enough behind that a late comeback attempt and passing touchdown wouldn't be enough. Kelly will aim to get the squad their second win of the season against Ohio after a bye week.
