Impact Kolek is now averaging 18.5 points per game across his last four contests. The owner of a stellar 3.30 AST/TO ratio, as well as a 37.2 percent clip from beyond the arc, Kolek is amid a breakout season.

After averaging 6.7 points per game on 32 percent shooting from the field during his sophomore campaign in 2021-22, Kolek is up to 10.8 points per game on 48 percent shooting thus far in 2022-23.

His scoring struggles didn't stop him from helping his team come out on top, he was consistently feeding the hot hands of Darryl Morsell and Justin Lewis, distributing all seven of his assists to those two. The most clutch assist was Kolek's feed to Lewis with under one minute to play that put the Golden Eagles up 72-70. The freshman has averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 7.8 assists during 30.8 minutes over his last five appearances.

Impact Kolek made the decision to transfer to Marquette after a freshman season at George Mason that saw him average 10.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 30.8 minutes. With Maryland transfer Darryl Morsell tending to a shoulder injury in the preseason, the door is open for Kolek to break into the rotation, potentially in a starting capacity. Marquette lost backcourt starters DJ Carton and Koby McEwen to the pros and transfer market, respectively, so Kolek could play a major role in this position group, with Greg Elliott representing the only meaningful returning contributor. We should get a better picture of Kolek's usage when Marquette laces up for its first exhibition matchup against Bowie State on Nov. 4.
