Staying in Tallahassee Florida State announced Wednesday that Ngom intends to remain with the Seminoles for the 2021-22 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact After three years at Canadian college Ryerson University, Ngom made the jump to the United States and the Division I ranks for the 2020-21 season. The 7-foot-2 center appeared in 23 games for the Seminoles, averaging 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 6.5 minutes. He'll take advantage of the NCAA granting all players an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing him to stick around in Tallahassee for his fifth season of college basketball.

Briefly gets into game Saturday Ngom (undisclosed) played one minute in Saturday's 78-70 loss to UNC.

Impact Ngom was initially a game-time call for Saturday's meeting with the Tar Heels and ended up entering the game in the first half. The 7-2 senior unfortunately picked up two quick fouls and had to be taken out and did not end up being put back in. Ngom averages just 2.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game as he'll continue to play a depth role in the frontcourt behind Malik Osborne and Balsa Koprivica.

Impact Ngom is a game-time decision Saturday after missing Wednesday's game due to a nagging injury. While it's not yet clear whether he'll ultimately be able to play against the Tar Heels, his participation in pregame warmups is certainly an encouraging sign.
