Wofford 79, High Point 65

Kevin Giltner and Noah Dahlman each scored 18 points as Wofford

defeated High Point 79-65 Saturday, snapping the Panthers’

three-game winning streak.

The Terriers shot with deadly efficiency, making 27 of 41

attempts from the field (65.9 percent), including 7 of 10 from

3-point territory. The only way High Point could cool off the

Terriers was to send them to the free-throw line, where Wofford

made only 18 of 28 attempts (64.3 percent).

The game was decided at the outset, when Wofford (5-6) scored

the first 16 points while the Panthers (5-4) missed their first

seven shots and committed nine turnovers during that stretch.

Brad Loesing had eight assists for Wofford, one more than the

High Point team.

Nick Barbour led High Point with 18 points and Shay Shine added

17 for the Panthers, who trailed 43-16 at halftime. They cut the

deficit to 11 late in the game.
