LAS VEGAS (AP) — Kris Clyburn hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 and Cheikh Mbacke Diong added 16 points and seven rebounds to guide UNLV to a 96-70 victory over Pacific on Tuesday night.

UNLV (3-1), in the middle of a seven-game homestand to open the season, built a 49-32 lead by halftime thanks to 62 percent shooting from the floor (18 of 29) and 11 Pacific turnovers that led to 18 points.

Robert Gallinat and Anthony Townes paced the Tigers (3-2), who came in with three wins in the last four games against the Runnin' Rebels and were playing at the Thomas & Mack Center for the first time since the 1995-96 season. Gallinat finished with 13 points on 3-of-3 shooting from distance, while Townes scored 12 before fouling out. Townes, who came in shooting 71 percent from the field, hit 5 of 11 against UNLV.

UNLV pushed its lead to 20 on Clyburn's 3-pointer just 20 seconds into the second half and cruised from there. The Rebels lead the all-time series against the California school 32-9. UNLV has won three straight and is coming off its first 20-win season in four years.
