Syracuse Basketball: Are NCAA Tournament hopes real?
A thrilling 66-62, come from behind victory, against the Virginia Cavaliers has rejuvenated the Syracuse Basketball season. The victory against the 9th ranked Wahoos marks the second consecutive top ten win at the Carrier Dome in as many Saturdays for the Orange. Bracketologist have taken notice.

Syracuse NCAA Tournament were dead. They lost to St. Johns (RPI 124) by 35 at the Carrier Dome. They were blown out by Boston College (RPI 187). A devastating collapse to UCONN (RPI 134) at Madison Square Garden.
Those contribute to a 4-3 record agains the RPI 101-200. But that was before this current four game winning streak that included three teams in the RPI top 30 (Florida State No. 6, Virginia No. 14, Wake Forrest No. 27).
When looking into records now, SU is 4-5 vs. RPI top 50. Improved to 7-4 in ACC play (equates to a potential bye in the ACC Tournament). 5-4 against current teams in Lunardi’s up to date bracketology, with plenty chances to improve.
The remaining slate has 7 games remaining. Four contest against teams currently in the NCAA Tournament projected field (Home: Duke & Louisville, Road: Clemson and Louisville) and a pair of contests with Georgia Tech who is listed as one of Lunardi’s Next Four Out.
I wrote this team off from having a shot. It didn’t seem possible to be having this conversation at this point of the season. A weak bubble has helped their cause but what Coach Jim Boeheim has been able to squeeze out of this team.
Something last season should’ve taught me, you can’t ever count Syracuse basketball out.
