Seaborn scores 30, Monmouth upsets MAAC leader Rider 91-77 (Feb 22, 2018)

WEST LONG BEACH, N.J. (AP) Micah Seaborn scored a career-high 30 points and Monmouth upset conference-leading Rider 91-77 on Thursday night.

Rider (21-8, 14-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) falls into a first-place tie with Canisius (14-3), which beat Niagara on Wednesday. Monmouth (11-18, 7-10) has won three of its last four games.

Seaborn was 10 of 17 from the field and made six 3-pointers. Austin Tilghman and Ray Salnave added 15 points apiece for the Hawks, who shot 55 percent (32 of 58) overall.

Jordan Allen made six 3s and finished with 18 points to lead Rider. Dimencio Vaughn had 15 points and Stevie Jordan chipped in 12.

Monmouth opened the game on a 25-8 run, capped by Diago Quinn's dunk, and built a 50-32 halftime advantage. Seaborn made two 3-pointers and Deion Hammond added another to end the half.

Allen made back-to-back 3s to pull the Broncs to 79-67, but they didn't get closer.
