Scott leads Rider past Wagner 90-84 in OT (Dec 16, 2017)

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) Frederick Scott had nine of his 21 points in overtime, Dimencio Vaughn and Stevie Jordan added 19 points apiece and Rider ended a four-game losing streak with a 90-84 win over Wagner on Saturday.

The Broncs (6-5) used an 8-0 run early in overtime to open a lead and made 7 of 8 free throws in the last 36.1 seconds. Scott had a 2-point and 3-point basket after Wagner scored first in overtime and Jordan followed with a 3-point play. Scott and Jordan each made a pair of foul shots in the last 10.6 seconds.

Romone Saunders' 3-pointer gave the Seahawks (7-2), who had won six straight, a 69-64 lead with 2:53 left in regulation. The Broncs scored the next five from the foul line, tying it on two Vaughn free throws with 43.1 seconds left. Wagner regained the lead on two Blake Francis free throws with 12.1 seconds to go but Scott matched those at 5.4 seconds. The Seahawks missed a pair of 3-pointers in the closing seconds.

Francis had a career-high 25 points for Wagner and Jo Jo Cooper added 19 with 11 assists. AJ Sumbry had 12 points and 13 rebounds, both career highs, but had his streak of six games with at least two blocks end.
