Saint Peter’s pulls away in second half for 65-48 win

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) Cameron Jones made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points, Elijah Gonzales had 10 points and 10 assists and Saint Peter's defeated Siena 65-48 on Sunday in a regular-season finale.

The Peacocks (12-17, 6-12) clinched the No. 9 seed for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament in Albany, New York, and play No. 8 seed Monmouth on Thursday. Siena (8-23, 4-14) is the No. 10 seed and plays the seventh seed.

Saint Peter's lost 59-57 in triple overtime at Siena on Jan. 29 but Sunday grabbed a 12-point lead on a Nnamdi Enechionyia 3-pointer with 10:51 remaining and kept the double-digit lead.

Peacocks had a 14-0 run before Siena's Kadeem Smithen made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer before halftime with Saint Peter's leading 26-22 at the break.

Quinn Taylor added 10 points and Sam Idowu had 10 rebounds with eight points for the Peacocks, who shot 51 percent.

Smithen scored 11 points and Prince Oduro 10 for the Saints.
