ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Jeromy Rodriguez's jump shot with 21 seconds left put East Tennessee State ahead for good in a 76-74 win against Winthrop on Saturday.

After Winthrop called timeout, Isaiah Tisdale swiped the ball from Nych Smith who then fouled Daivien Williamson with 11 seconds remaining. Williamson made one of two free throws, and after the Eagles secured the rebound, Kyle Zunic missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Tisdale led East Tennessee State (2-2) with 17 points, Kevon Tucker scored 16 and Patrick Good added 14. Rodriguez grabbed 13 rebounds and Mladen Armus had 11 boards. The Buccaneers managed the win despite 8-of-16 shooting from the foul line. ETSU led 35-30 and extended it to 45-38, the largest lead either team would have in the second half.

Smith led Winthrop (2-2) with 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting, Josh Ferguson scored 14, Bjorn Broman, 11 and Zunic 10.
