Roby's foul shot lifts St. Louis past St. (Jan 31, 2018)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jalen Johnson and Aaron Hines each scored 11 points and Davell Roby's free throw with three seconds left gave St. Louis a 60-59 win over St. Joseph's on Wednesday night.

Johnson made a 3-pointer with 1:52 left and St. Louis led 59-53. Taylor Funk made a layup, and after Javon Bess turned it over, Shavar Newkirk buried a 3 to bring St. Joseph's within a point. Jordan Goodwin committed a turnover before Aaron Hines fouled Newkirk who went to the line and made 1 of 2 to tie with 13 seconds left. Newkirk fouled Roby who went to the line and made 1 of 2.

Nick Robinson's 3 gave the Hawks their last lead at 51-50 before Johnson's 3 with 3:08 put St. Louis (12-11, 5-5 Atlantic 10) back up. Hasahn French and Roby each scored 10. Roby made up for 1-of-13 shooting from the field with a 7-of-10 effort from the foul line. French and Roby combined for 17 rebounds.

Funk led the Hawks (9-12, 4-5) with 21 points and Newkirk scored 16.
