Chaisson Allen, a preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association

pick, scored 20 points and Northeastern held on to beat Boston U.

66-64 on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

Three other Huskies scored in double figures – freshman Alex

Harris had 12 points, Kauri Black had 11 points and 12 rebounds,

and Joel Smith added 10 points.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak in the series for

Northeastern and gave the Huskies their third straight win in home

openers.

Northeastern led by 13 at halftime but the Terriers chipped away

and cut the lead to 58-57 with 3:41 to play after a 14-2 run. The

Huskies answered with a 6-2 run for a 64-59 lead with 1:24 to play,

and iced the game on two free throws by Harris for a 66-62 lead

with 4 seconds remaining.

John Holland led the Terriers with 25 points and D.J. Irving

added 14.
