Northeastern 56, Towson 49

Jonathan Lee scored 13 points and Northeastern defeated Towson

57-48 Monday night for the Tigers’ 33rd straight loss.

Lee has scored in double figures in 21 of the past 24 games.

Towson stayed close and trailed only 41-39 with 8:21 remaining

in the second half before Northeastern went on an 11-2 run to lead

52-41 with 1:21 left. The Huskies (5-7, 1-1 Colonial Athletic

Association) went the final 3 minutes without a field goal but iced

the game by making 5 of 8 free-throw attempts in the final


Northeastern pulled away on the strength of 11-of-21 shooting in

the second half.

The Huskies scored 27 points off 18 Towson turnovers and

outscored the Tigers 10-0 on fast break points. Towson’s 49 points

is the fewest allowed by Northeastern all season.

Eric Gumbs and Marcus Damas each scored 14 points and Jervon

Presley had 11 for Towson (0-13, 0-2)
