North Carolina starting forward Kennedy Meeks sprained his left knee in the second half of the Tar Heels’ round of 32 victory Saturday vs. Arkansas, and he will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Chapel Hill.

Meeks injured the knee when a Razorbacks player fell backward and straight into Meeks’ left leg.

Meeks is an important part of the Tar Heels’ rotation, averaging 11.6 points (third on team) and 7.4 rebounds (second on team) in 23.6 minutes. His status for next Thursday’s game against either No. 1 seed Wisconsin or No. 8 Oregon is unclear.
