Norfolk State beats Savannah State 80-76 (Jan 11, 2017)

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Zaynah Robinson had 21 points and six assists and Norfolk State rallied after trailing most of the second half to beat Savannah State 80-76 on Wednesday night.

Stavian Allen tied it at 74 and Kerwin Okoro's 3-pointer gave the Spartans (4-12, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) the lead for good at 77-74 with 1:46 left.

Savannah State (4-12, 1-2) had the largest lead by either team at 63-55 with 13:04 left. Norfolk State scored nine straight to take its first lead since the opening minute of the second half. The Tigers retook the lead and mostly stayed in control until the final minutes.

Troyce Manassa had a career-high 29 points and Dexter McClanahan added 12 for the Tigers. Zach Sellers had a career-high 10 assists.

Okoro and Jonathan Wade added 11 points each for Norfolk State, and Allen, Jordan Butler and Alex Long added 10 points each. Long had 15 rebounds and Butler grabbed 13.
