CINCINNATI (AP) Trevon Bluiett scored a career-high 25 points and led a second-half surge that carried No. 7 Xavier to an 84-81 victory over Lehigh on Friday night.

Edmond Sumner also set a career high with 24 points as Xavier (1-0) – playing with the highest preseason ranking in school history – rallied after letting a double-digit lead slip away. Lehigh (0-1) got the ball back with 17.7 seconds left on Sumner's offensive foul and missed a pair of 3-point shots.

Sumner opened the game with a three-point play and had 11 of Xavier's first 20 points, showing more patience in his second season running the offense. The Musketeers led by as many as 12 points in the half, with Sumner scoring 15.
