N. Illinois 72, Roosevelt 46

Antone Christian scored 14 points and Northern Illinois held

Roosevelt to just eight points in the second half to earn its first

victory of the season with a 72-46 win Monday night.

Tim Toler added 12 points and Abdel Nader had 11 for the Huskies

(1-11).

Trailing by five at the half, Northern Illinois outscored the

Lakers 39-8 in the second half. Down 42-37, Christian scored the

first five points of a 19-0 run that helped the Huskies take

command of the game.

After Christian’s 3-pointer tied it, Marquavese Ford’s 3-pointer

gave Northern Illinois its first lead of the evening.

Mark Tometich led the Lakers (4-9) with nine points.
