N. Arizona 80, CS Bakersfield 67

James Douglas scored a career-high 22 points and Northern

Arizona beat Cal State Bakersfield 80-67 on Saturday night, a day

after changing head coaches.

Stallon Saldivar added 16 points and seven assists for the

Lumberjacks (3-7), who snapped a four-game losing streak and beat a

Division-I team for the first time this season.

Mike Adras abruptly resigned Friday afternoon and 70-year-old

Dave Brown, a color commentator for Northern Arizona basketball

broadcasts, was named interim head coach. Adras coached 363

straight games for the Lumberjacks after taking over for current

UCLA coach Ben Howland, who left for Pittsburgh in 1999.

Tyrone White led the Roadrunners (5-3) with 17 points while Zach

Lamb added 16.
