Mount St. Mary's wins 8th straight, holds off Bryant, 77-70 (Feb 02, 2017)

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) Elijah Long and Miles Wilson combined to score 40 points and Mount St. Mary's pushed its win streak to eight games with a 77-70 win over Bryant Thursday night.

The Mountaineers saw their cushion atop the Northeast Conference double after Sacred Heart upset Fairleigh Dickinson, 74-70, and Robert Morris knocked off LIU Brooklyn, 67-63. Mount St. Mary's now has a two-game lead on the Knights.

Long hit 9 of 19 shots from the field to post 21 points. Wilson hit 8 of 10 from the floor and totaled 19 points. Chris Wray added nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Mount St. Mary's trailed by one at intermission, 38-37, but Junior Robinson's jumper a minute into the second half gave the Mountaineers (12-12, 10-1) the lead for good, 41-40.

Nisre Zouzoua scored 25 points to lead Bryant (8-16, 5-6).
