Montana State beats SE Missouri State, 88-82 in Cancun (Nov 22, 2017)

CANCUN, Mexico (AP) Tyler Hall scored 34 points and Montana State beat Southeast Missouri State 88-82 on Wednesday in a Cancun Challenge championship game.

Hall was 11 of 19 from the floor and made eight 3-pointers. Isaac Bonton added 12 points for Montana State (4-2), which won the tournament's Mayan Division.

Denzel Mahoney scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting to lead Southeast Missouri State (2-3). Daniel Simmons and Jonathan Dalton added 12 points apiece.

The Redhawks had their last lead, 60-59, with nine minutes left. The Bobcats used a 17-6 surge and led 76-66. Bonton scored four points and Hall made a 3-pointer during the stretch.

Simmons scored five points and Mahoney added four to help pull the Redhawks to 80-77 with 1:06 remaining. Hall and Bonton each shot 4 of 4 from the line to seal it.
