Middle Tennessee 78, UT-Martin 62

LaRon Dendy led three starters in double figures as Middle

Tennessee defeated Tennessee-Martin 78-62 Saturday night in

nonconference action.

Dendy, the Blue Raiders’ center, made 9 of 12 shots from the

field and 3 of 4 free throws to help Middle Tennessee improve to

9-2, 5-1 at home. Guards Marcos Knight and Raymond Cintron also

scored in double figures. Knight chipped in with 18 points and

Citron added 14.

Middle Tennessee shot a sizzling 64 percent from the floor,

making 29 of 45 shots. At the foul line, the Blue Raiders were a

proficient 17 of 22.

Myles Taylor led Tennessee-Martin (2-8) with 19 points and

grabbed 5 rebounds. Two Skyhawks also scored in double figures.

Swingman Mike Liabo scored 13 points and Maclin Corderio added 10

on 5 of 9 shooting. Middle Tennessee led 34-24 at halftime and

outscored Tennessee-Martin 44-37 in the second half.
