Lyons scores 22 as Air Force rallies past Colorado St. 76-71 (Jan 17, 2018)

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) Trevor Lyons scored 22 points and Jacob Van made four straight free throws in the last 25 seconds as Air Force rallied from nine points down to clip Colorado State 76-71 on Wednesday night.

Deion James and Prentiss Nixon canned consecutive 3-pointers around an Air Force miss and the Rams led 54-46 with just under 10 minutes to play.

But Van hit a 3-pointer that cut the gap to one, then hit another for a 65-64 Air Force lead with 2:54 left. Lavelle Scottie hit from distance to put Air Force (8-10, 2-4 Mountain West) back in the lead for keeps, 68-67, with 1:45 left. Trevor Lyons and Van scored the last eight points.

Colorado State missed five of its last seven shots.

The Falcons made 12 3-pointers in the game, Lyons was 4 of 4 from distance. Van scored 15 points, Scottie 14.

Nixon led Colorado State (10-10, 3-4) with 18 points and seven assists, Nico Carvacho scored 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds and J.D. Paige added 10 points as Colorado State shot 5 of 17 from distance.
