Louisville women's hoops coach calls his team 'losers' in crazy rant

Thursday's women's college hoops game between No. 7 Louisville and No. 5 Maryland was an intense matchup that went down to the wire, with the Terrapins pulling off the 78-72 victory in the final minutes.

With 10 lead changes and a two-point deficit with less than three minutes left on the clock, it was clearly a hard-fought effort from both sides.

But apparently for Louisville head coach Jeff Walz, it wasn't enough.

The lady Cardinals' coach ripped his team after the loss during a bizarre postgame press conference, in which he called his team "losers" and went on a lengthy rant about "the problem with society" and "participation trophies."

The video is a must-see:

The lady Cards played a fantastic game against one of the top teams in the country, and while little mistakes ended up costing them down the stretch, Walz might have been a little hard on his team.

Walz, in his 10th season as U of L's head coach, is known for being an extremely animated character both on the hardwood and in front of the camera. It's not the first time he's given a dramatic postgame presser and it probably won't be the last.
