Louisiana Tech 62, Texas-Arlington 61

Olu Ashaolu scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to help

Louisiana Tech defeat Texas-Arlington 62-61 on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (9-4) led 57-47 with 3:28 left to play, but two

3-pointers from LaMarcus Reed capped an 11-2 run that pulled the

Mavericks to within one, 59-58, with 1:36 to go.

Ashaolu converted 3 of 4 from the free-throw line in the final

20 seconds to push Louisiana Tech’s lead to 62-58 with seven

seconds left.

Louisiana Tech scored the first 20 points of the game and led

36-26 at halftime. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 42-26 after

two 3s from Lonnie Smith early in the second half.

DeAndre Brown led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Smith and

Kenyon McNeaill added 11 apiece.
