La Salle jumps out early, cruised past Saint Joseph's 83-68 (Feb 18, 2017)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) B.J. Johnson and Jordan Price scored 18 points apiece and La Salle cruised to an 83-68 victory over Saint Joseph's on Saturday.

La Salle (14-11, 8-6 Atlantic 10) snapped a two-game skid. Saint Joseph's (10-16, 3-11) has lost six straight.

Johnson was 8 of 16 from the floor and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Price was 6-of-13 shooting and made five 3-pointers. Amar Stukes added 15 points and six assists, and Pookie Powell chipped in 13 points for La Salle, which shot 53 percent (29 of 55) from the floor and made 12 3s.

James Demery scored 18 points and had five assists to lead Saint Joseph's.

The Explorers opened the game on a 24-10 run, capped by Powell's 3-pointer, and led 44-26 at halftime. La Salle had a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
