Kiapway leads balanced Ball State past Longwood 61-45 (Dec 19, 2016)

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) Francis Kiapway scored 10 points, Sean Sellers nine and four others had eight apiece as a balanced Ball State defeated Longwood 61-45 on Monday night.

Kiapway made 4 of 9 shots from the floor while Sellers scored on three 3-pointers - all coming in quick succession in a 16-2 breakaway to open the second half. Ryan Weber mixed in a trey among the trio of long balls from Sellers. The Cardinals (7-4) cruised from there, leading by as many as 28 when Kiapway made a 3-pointer with 4:15 left to play.

Tayler Persons, Franko House, Jeremie Tyler and Tahjai Teague all finished with eight points for Ball State, which made 24 of 64 field goals.

JaShaun Smith led the Lancers (3-7) with 11 points and a season-high four blocked shots. Darrion Allen and Isaiah Walton each scored 10 points. Longwood is 0-5 in road games this season.
