Kendley, Carr lead Morgan State past Hampton 77-70 (Feb 25, 2017)

BALTIMORE (AP) Tiwian Kendley had 24 points, Phillip Carr had a double-double and Morgan State held off Hampton 77-70 on Saturday, ending a six-game losing streak in the series.

Carr had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Bears (13-14, 10-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who won their third straight. Martez Cameron added 13 points and five assists.

Morgan State led 33-25 at the half and had a 12-0, capped by an Antonio Gillespie 3-pointer to make it 49-33 with 13:37 remaining. The lead was 18 when the Pirates reeled off nine, getting the deficit to single digits on a Lysander Bracey 3 at 9:42.

Hampton reeled off another seven to close with 66-61 with 3:34 to go but the Pirates went cold and the Bears made 4 of 5 free throws and broke the press for a layup and dunk.

Kalin Fisher had 16 points for Hampton (12-15, 9-5).
