Jones shoots Central Arkansas past Lamar in 2OT, 100-91 (Jan 06, 2018)

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Deandre Jones converted a three-point play, hit a 3-pointer and assisted on another in a second overtime period as Central Arkansas rallied to beat Lamar, 100-91 on Saturday.

Jones finished with a triple double, scoring 13 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing 11 assists.

Colton Weisbrod hit two free throws to give Lamar (10-7, 2-2 Southland Conference) an 80-79 lead with 19 seconds left, Howard Koval came down with the offensive rebound, drew a foul and hit the first of two free throws to tie the game at 80-80 and force the first overtime. Weisbrod's jumper with 1:11 left in the first overtime tied the game at 86-86 and, since neither team could score in the final minute, forced a second OT.

Thatch Unruh took a feed from Jones and drilled a 3 six seconds into the second extra period and Central Arkansas (8-9, 2-2) never trailed again. Jones' three-point play made it 92-88 with 4:01 left his trey with 1:33 remaining made it 98-91.

Jordan Howard led the Bears with 27 points, leading five players into double-figure scoring.

Weisbrod scored a career-high 38 points, hitting 11 of 17 from the field and 16 of 22 from the line while pulling down 11 rebounds for Lamar.
