Iona wins it at line, beats Hartford 80-75 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — E.J. Crawford scored a season-high 19 points and Iona made 12 free throws inside the final three minutes to pull away and beat Hartford 80-75 on Wednesday in a MGM Resorts Main Event consolation.

Rickey McGill and Tajuan Agee added 12 points apiece for Iona (2-2).

The game was tied 68-68 with 2:41 to play. Isaiah Still and McGill each made a pair of free throws for the Gaels to make it a four-point lead. George Blagojevic drove the lane to pull Hartford to 72-70 with 1:50 to play but they didn't get closer. Five players combined for 12-of-16 shooting from the line for Iona during the stretch. McGill led with four free throws.

John Carroll scored 26 points to lead Hartford (1-5), which shot 57 percent from the field but missed nine free throws. Blagojevic added 19 points and nine rebounds, and J.R. Lynch chipped in 15 points.
