Haney shoots Loyola Marymount past McNeese 92-86 in OT

LOS ANGELES (AP) Steven Haney scored 16 points, 13 coming in the last 7:38 of play, and Loyola Marymount rallied late to knock off McNeese 92-86 in overtime on Sunday.

Loyola Marymount trailed 74-68 with 1:42 left in regulation when Haney, who missed all three shots he took in the first half, nailed his first 3-pointer to cut the deficit to three. Jarren Greenwood, who made all 10 of his free throws for the Cowboys, hit two to push the lead to 78-75. But Haney nailed another 3-pointer with 19 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Haney nailed his third straight 3 to open overtime and Loyola Marymount (2-1) never trailed again in the first meeting between the schools. Cameron Allen topped LMU with 19 points, while Eli Scott chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds. James Batemon added 15 points and seven assists.

Kalob Ledoux scored 26 to lead McNeese (1-3). He and James Harvey, who added 15 points, combined to score 22 in the first half as the Cowboys forged a 46-35 lead at the break. Greenwood finished with 17 points and Quatarrius Wilson added 12 points and eight rebounds.
