Jihad Ali scored 15 points, all 3-pointers, and Brandon McGee

had 14 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double as

Georgia State defeated Florida A&M 76-67 on Saturday night.

The Panthers (4-4), whose previous four games resulted in two

overtime losses, a last-second win and a last-second loss, led

62-47 with 7:12 remaining. But they didn’t score for the next 4:15

and the Rattlers (5-6) scored 13 straight points to trail


Amin Stevens, who led the Rattlers with 25 points and 11

rebounds, had six during that run.

Ali’s 3-pointer with 2:57 left made it 65-60 Georgia State. Eric

Buckner blocked a Florida A&M shot and dunked on the Panthers’

ensuing possession after grabbing an offensive rebound to make it


McGee added two free throws for Georgia State. Devonta White’s

layup after a steal and assist by James Fields made it 71-60 with

1:02 remaining.
