NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Nick Garth drained six from long range to total 23 points as Lamar upset Stephen F. Austin 71-66 on Saturday to complete its first season sweep of the Lumberjacks since the 2001-02 campaign.

Lamar (19-11, 11-6), which has won six of its last seven games, beat the Lumberjacks 76-54 in early February. The Cardinals also garnered their first win in Nacogdoches since the 2005-06 season.

The victory assures Lamar of the No. 6 seed into the Southland Conference Tournament with only a game at McNeese remaining to complete the regular season.

The Lumberjacks are battling Southeastern Louisiana for the No. 2 seed behind Nicholls. The top four teams earn a first-round bye with the top two resting until the semifinal round.
