Furman 80, W. Carolina 66

Charlie Reddick scored 16 points and hot-shooting Furman

defeated Western Carolina 80-66 on Saturday.

The Paladins, who snapped a two-game losing streak, made 54

percent (27 of 50) of their field goal attempts including 11 of 20

from 3-point range. It’s was the Paladins’ best 3-point shooting

game and the fifth time they have shot better than 50 percent from

the field this season.

Bryant Irwin added 14 points and Bobby Austin had 12 for the

Paladins (13-13, 7-8 Southern Conference), who held Western

Carolina to 2-of-18 shooting from 3-point range.

Furman led by 14 at halftime and opened the second half with a

13-0 run to build a 51-24 lead after a 3-pointer by Irwin with

15:38 remaining.

Tawaski King scored 14 points and Harouna Mutombo chipped in

with 13 for the Catamounts (10-17, 4-10), who have lost three in a

row and seven of their past eight.
