NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Forward Matthew Moyer has transferred to Vanderbilt after spending the first two years of his college career at Syracuse.

Vanderbilt announced the transfer Friday.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Gahanna, Ohio, will sit out this season as a transfer and be eligible for 2019-20. Moyer redshirted with an injury in 2016-17 and started 20 of his 35 games this season averaging 3.2 point and 3.4 rebounds a game. He had a career-high 18 points against Connecticut.

Coach Bryce Drew says Moyer fits Vanderbilt well as a talented wing player.
