Eastern Washington tied atop Big Sky with 91-75 win (Mar 02, 2017)

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) Bogdan Bliznyuk scored 32 points and Eastern Washington pulled away in the second half for a 91-75 victory over Southern Utah on Thursday night.

The Eagles (21-9, 13-4 Big Sky) conclude their regular season at Northern Arizona on Saturday for a chance to clinch at least a share of the conference title. Eastern Washington is tied with North Dakota atop the standings, and the Fighting Hawks hold the tiebreaker advantage. Southern Utah (5-25, 3-14) has lost 14 of its last 15 games.

Bliznyuk was 8 of 11 from the floor and made 15 of 16 free throws. Felix Von Hofe added 20 points and Jacob Wiley had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Eastern Washington.

Randy Onwuasor scored 28 points to lead Southern Utah.

The Thunderbirds led 52-47 with 14:27 left when Eastern' s Ty Gibson hit a 3, sparking a 13-2 spurt for a 61-54 Eagles' lead. Southern Utah pulled to 61-59 with nine minutes left but didn't' get closer.
