East Carolina 78, Chowan 62
Miguel Paul and Darrius Morrow each scored 20 points to help
East Carolina pull away to beat Chowan 78-62 on Saturday.
Morrow made 8 for 10 from the field while Paul made 7 for 11 and
hit five 3-pointers.
Chowan (2-4) cut East Carolina’s second half lead to three,
51-48, behind a Quinton McDuffie 3-pointer. But East Carolina used
a 13-4 run, capped off by a Paul 3-pointer, to take a 64-52 lead
with 6:55 remaining in the half.
Erin Straughn scored 17 points for East Carolina and Maurice
Kemp added nine points and 12 rebounds for the Pirates.
McDuffie lead Chowan with 22 points and nine rebounds.
