Cockfield helps Arkansas State to 87-77 win over Evansville

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Ty Cockfield scored 24 points as Arkansas State sprinted to an early lead and cruised in the second half to beat Evansville 87-77 on Tuesday night.

Tristin Walley added 14 points. Malik Brevard had six points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots for Arkansas State (3-5), which has won two of its last three games.

The Red Wolves had a 10-0 run to take a 43-33 lead into the break. They held that advantage through the second period. Arkansas State was 28 of 62 from the floor (45 percent) while limiting Evansville to 22-of-56 shooting (39 percent). Arkansas State's bench scored 24 points, compared to 13 for Evansville.

Shea Feehan and Marty Hill had career highs with 21 points and 16 respectively for Evansville (4-4). K.J. Riley added 15 points while dishing out five assists.
